Tasho Ishi/Dentsu2060
Tokyo's buildings, fashion, illuminations, and advertising.
"Science Fantasy Symphonia Movement" in which the irresistible stimulation and stress caused by these things are unconsciously expressed.
TASHO ISHI's album ``Dentsu 2060'' follows the functions and methods of club music and soundtracks, but is a strange work that depicts the urban landscape outside the club. Because of his style, which does not fit within the existing context, it leaves a feeling of discomfort that does not fit the listener's ears, but it is also an expression of discomfort in a world where everything is optimized. The album was released by PRESTO!?, a Milan-based label led by electronic musician LORENZO SENNI, who is also known for his releases on WARP.
TASHO ISHI currently wears various hats as a sound designer, image consultant, and advertising critic for brands and fashion for multinational companies.
He made his debut as BRF with the "BRF-KU" EP in 2016, and is active as a runway music curator under the name TASHO ISHI. He is also an active musician who mainly performs live, appearing with DONATO DOZZY, LORENZO SENNI, and others at the two-part event "Positive Feedback" supported by PRESTO!? and WARP.
In a city where advertising is the main character, how much does style resonate?
``Dentsu 2060'' is a detailed work that faithfully recreates the image of a city filled with floating vanity. Seamlessly interweaving field recordings and melodic light points, he composes unexpected reflections on the 2021 Tokyo Olympics ceremonies and lit soundtracks of trendy dramas.
His nine works convey the voice of the city and offer a new and spectacular view of the world exposed under artificial light.
