イタリア北部の研究所ネットワークを調査した結果、私たちは小さなニット工房を発見しました。この工房では、身体の動きに反応する通気性のあるテキスタイルを生み出すことを目指し、さまざまな編み技法の実験を行っています。18ゲージの細番手のシマ社製編み機で、溶液染色されたナイロン糸を使用し、ニットパネルを開発しました。その後、3本針フラットロック縫いにより裁断・縫製を行っています。裾やフードのニット縁部分も、すべて編み上げられています。「スターゲート・フリース」は、独自の構造を採用しています。外側は糸のほつれを防ぐために高密度に編み上げられ、内側には浮き糸が空気を閉じ込め、体の周囲に暖かさを生み出します。このウェアは、運動後や低強度の活動中に着用できるよう設計されており、特徴として、ゴム入りのフード、手を保護するための長めの袖、そしてポケットへのアクセスを妨げないよう設計されたゴム入りの裾が挙げられます。

Our research across the network of laboratories in Northern Italy led us to discover a small knitwear workshop. Within this lab, we are experimenting with different knitting techniques with the aim of creating breathable textiles that respond to the body’s activity.
Using solution-dyed nylon yarns on Shima machines with an 18-gauge fineness, we developed knitted panels that are then cut and sewn using three-needle flatlock seams. The knit edges at the hem and hood are also fully knitted.
The Stargate Fleece uses a specific construction: a densely knitted outer surface to prevent yarn snagging, and floating yarns on the inside that trap air, creating warmth around the body.The garment is designed to be worn post-activity or during low-intensity activities and features: a hood with elastic binding, extended sleeves to protect the hands, and an elasticated hem designed not to interfere with access to pockets.
